SOS Software Service as an employer

Satisfaction with an employer is in the eye of the beholder. So we don’t want to decide whether or how great we are. What we can say at this point, however, is that 50% of all employees have been with the company for more than 5 years. 25% of them even longer than 10 years, and 14% longer than 15 years.

Our management team consists of 60% female colleagues. 95% of all female colleagues who took parental leave returned afterwards. As a rule, we were able to find flexible working time models that were adapted to the respective family situation.

98% of all trainees were offered permanent positions. Many of them are still working with us today and some have been able to work their way into management positions. Does everything always run smoothly for us? Of course not, but the question is how we deal with it. Short decision-making processes and a continuous hands-on mentality are rewarded and pay off at the end of the day. We are currently looking for colleagues for the following positions. If you are looking for a change, we should get to know each other. We look forward to receiving your application.

Vocational Training at SOS Software Service

We offer various apprenticeships with a future – in an industry of the future. An apprenticeship means more than just learning a profession. Training is the first step towards the future. We want to take this step together with our trainees and prepare them for their future careers.

The tasks are varied and exciting: our trainees pass through as many departments as possible, from purchasing, accounting, marketing, sales and fulfillment to IT. In this way, they get to know and better understand the interrelationships between different departments and processes. An all-round view is important in order to understand our business as a whole. The department rotation lays the first foundations for a later takeover, as interests and skills can be recognized at an early stage. In addition to the benefits that we offer all our employees, the following benefits are particularly important for our trainees:

  • Attractive training allowances
  • Company-wide bonus payments also for trainees
  • Accessibility by public transportation
  • Possibility of shortening the apprenticeship period according to certain criteria
  • Paid preparation course for the final exams
  • Support programs possible during training
  • Retention rate of 98 percent in a permanent employment relationship
  • All trainees are represented by an elected trainee representative
  • The trainees are supervised and accompanied by a training officer provided by the company

Sustainability

Many talk about it, but we live it – because it makes sense and it affects us all. We generate the electricity we use in the office ourselves via a 57 kWP photovoltaic system on our office roof. And because we produce so much electricity, we even have enough left over to power our air-heat pump heating system and refuel our company cars – which are all electric. We use energy-efficient appliances and LED lighting only. And if that’s not enough, we have four bee colonies on our Augsburg site. Not only are these important for the environment, they also produce delicious honey. We’ll see what other projects come up in the near future.

  • When you have the opportunity to be hired right from the start, it just gives you an incredible amount of security.

    Xenia Tsitsipa, office management trainee

  • I have been working at SOS for 20 years. I was the first trainee ever to experience and help shape the beginnings of software distribution. I now head up the Fulfillment team, which handles the processing of our resellers’ license orders.

    Christine Tiefenthaler, Teamlead Fulfillment

  • I started my apprenticeship here because I was interested in the IT sector. Nowadays, nothing works without IT. Gaining an insight into the processes of software procurement and licensing was an exciting challenge for me. Now I work as a Product Manager in the Alludo Sales Team
