Software licences are generally purchased through specialist resellers and system houses who have corresponding supply and service contracts with corporate customers.

The supply contracts stipulate that all types of software must be procured through the respective partner. However, as the procurement of software is not usually the focus of resellers and system houses, they take advantage of the many added values of SOS Software Service. Software licences are purchased through a distributer because it is quicker, easier and ultimately more cost-effective for resellers than doing it themselves. The specialist resellers and system houses have purchase agreements with the distributor that cover general terms and conditions, deliveries, payments, exceptions and more.

Developing and implementing a successful channel strategy

As a distributor, we partner with manufacturers to implement an existing channel strategy or to help them when it comes to introducing a new strategy. We are happy to offer our years of experience to help you get the most out of the distribution model.

Our Product Champions and Business Development Managers are trained in the specifics of each manufacturers’ topics and special features and are the primary points of contact for our partners. Important issues are communicated to the relevant departments and well as to the customers at the right time.

Network of resellers throughout Europe – Support with projects

Over the years, our partner network in Europe has expanded to an impressive 3,800 resellers and system houses. Our Key Account Managers play a crucial role in this, not only because of their specialist knowledge, but also because of their personal relationships with resellers. After all, nobody knows the needs and requirements of customers better than the resellers themselves. We rely on the tried and tested ‘vitamin B’ – the personal relationships and trust built up over the years.

Our partnerships go beyond business. They are based on trust, shared goals and the belief that by working closely together we can achieve the best possible results for our customers. We value the experience and commitment of our resellers and are proud to be part of this strong network.

Automation and technical connectivity to manufacturers and specialist resellers

Our focus and key driver for future growth is technical connectivity in all directions. Our in-house development team is working flat out on a wide range of connectivity and automation solutions for manufacturers and resellers. Manufacturers working with SOS Software Service are not only integrated into our ERP system, but are also imported into the systems and price lists of specialist resellers and purchasing portals, making them visible and usable. In consultation with you, we approach individual connections for ordering processes and supply chain automation so that we can work together even faster, more cost-effectively and error-free in the future.

Marketing campaigns and support for specialist resellers

Marketing campaigns are only effective and successful if they are coordinated with the channel, i.e. the distribution and specialist resellers. The aim is not only to roll out marketing campaigns to end customers, but also to involve channel partners at an early stage. In this way, end customers are approached by both the manufacturer and the resellers. We are happy to contribute our experience and ideas. We are also happy to help our specialist resellers implementing appropriate marketing campaigns if they do not have their own resources.

Sustainability

Many talk about it, but we live it – because it makes sense and it affects us all. We generate the electricity we use in the office ourselves via a 57 kWP photovoltaic system on our office roof. And because we produce so much electricity, we even have enough left over to power our air-heat pump heating system and refuel our company cars – which are all electric. We use energy-efficient appliances and use LED lighting only. And if that’s not enough, we have four bee colonies on our Augsburg site. Not only are these important for the environment, they also produce delicious honey. We’ll see what other projects come up in the near future.
