TechSmith has postponed the release of Snagit 2025 and Camtasia 2025 to January 2025. This extends the period during which the products can still be purchased as a perpetual license with a maintenance contract. The costs for a renewal will be significantly lower than the full subscription price for at least the next five years.

TechSmith is changing the licensing form with the release of Snagit 2025 and Camtasia 2025. We have compiled all the important information for you.

Previously, the products could be purchased as a perpetual license with a maintenance contract.
TechSmith is switching the licensing model to subscription from autumn. If your customers decide to upgrade to a license under maintenance by October, they will receive access to a subscription license in the autumn and will therefore not have to conclude a new contract from 01.10.2024.

If there is no active maintenance contract at this time, these customers will no longer receive a subscription and therefore no new version. Access to versions that have already been purchased for an indefinite period will be retained.

Customers with a subscription model are not affected by this change. Existing customers with an active maintenance contract can still purchase perpetual licenses until 2025.

Talk to your customers and get them all into active maintenance in good time so that the switch to subscription can take place smoothly and as cost-effectively as possible!
