Jacob Mellor on working with SOS Software Service

An interview with Jacob Mellor,
CTO of IronSoftware, about a shift in
the German developer market and how SOS Software Service has helped accelerate it.

SOS Software Service:

IronSoftware:

Jacob, can you tell us a bit about how IronPDF started?

Absolutely. We developed the first version of IronPDF a decade ago. At that time, there was a noticeable gap in the market for a lightweight .NET PDF tool that could generate high-quality documents without extensive configuration.
I aimed to create a solution that developers could integrate into their projects quickly and efficiently. What began as a side project has now evolved into the foundation of Iron Software, offering a suite of libraries utilized by thousands of companies worldwide.

IronSoftware:

You’ve seen significant traction in Germany recently. What’s driving this growth?

In essence, developers are seeking tools that deliver on their promises without unnecessary complexity. While there are powerful PDF libraries available, they can sometimes be intricate and costly.
We’re observing a trend where development teams in Germany are turning to IronPDF for its straightforwardness, speed, and transparent licensing. This shift has been a substantial contributor to our recent sales growth in the region.

IronSoftware:

What kind of feedback are you hearing from developers making the switch?

Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Developers often express appreciation for our clear documentation and intuitive API. Many have transitioned from other PDF solutions and found that migrating to IronPDF streamlined their workflows. They also value our responsive support team, which provides meaningful assistance when needed.

How has SOS Software Service assisted in accelerating this shift in the German market?

SOS Software Service has been an invaluable partner. Their deep understanding of both technical requirements and procurement processes has simplified the evaluation and purchasing journey for our clients. They’ve facilitated connections with resellers and consultants, expanding our reach within the German market. Together, we’ve onboarded larger accounts and empowered smaller resellers to confidently offer IronPDF to their clients.

SOS Software Service:

IronSoftware:

Can you share any standout examples?

Certainly. One notable instance involved an engineering team seeking improved rendering quality and agile support. SOS Software Service coordinated technical discussions, clarified licensing terms, and facilitated the sale. This collaboration not only addressed the client’s immediate needs but also opened doors to ongoing conversations with other divisions across Europe.

SOS Software Service:

IronSoftware:

If you had to describe what makes IronPDF different in just a few words?

Developer-centric. From the outset, we’ve prioritized the developer experience. IronPDF is quick to deploy, scalable, and backed by a team that actively listens to user feedback. This focus resonates strongly, particularly in Germany, where precision and efficiency are paramount.

What’s next for IronPDF?

We’re continuously refining and expanding IronPDF to support .NET 10 and cross-platform applications. Collaborating with SOS Software Service, we’re launching joint training initiatives and tailored support programs in German. Our mission is to establish IronPDF as the default PDF tool for .NET developers, especially those who value quality and reliability.

Thank you, Jacob! We’re excited to be part of this journey.
